We are currently hiring for a Purchasing Supervisor, a vital role within our leadership team. This position offers the opportunity to shape and support a world-class hospitality experience from behind the scenes, ensuring excellence in every detail.

Position Summary:

As the Purchasing Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations of our Purchasing Department, ensuring that all material and service requirements are met with precision and efficiency. Your responsibilities will include managing procurement processes while adhering to company policies and ethical standards, providing oversight to guarantee that all purchases align with our commitment to excellence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the administration of Purchasing and Shipping & Receiving operations
  • Ensure the justification and approval of all requisitions submitted by other company departments
  • Verify and enter all Purchase Orders (both ADACO and Non ADACO) and submit to finance
  • Assist Food & Beverage with large-volume purchases
  • Assist Controller when deemed necessary with special projects
  • Ensure the smooth operation of the Purchasing Department through supervision of staff (if applicable)
  • Verify and enter all requisitions on a daily or timely basis into the ADACO system
  • Serve as a role model for Team Members by demonstration of positive action, behavior, attendance, work ethic, and guest service
  • Ensure compliance with companywide and Purchasing Department policies and procedures
  • Protect the confidentiality of company business information
  • Enforce ethical practices in all dealings with company suppliers; monitor subordinates and companies that pursue improper practices
  • Prepare and present operational reports to Senior Management as requested
  • Responsible for the training and development of Team Members for succession planning
  • The hotel is a twenty-four-hour business that never closes; team members are expected to work as business demands dictate, in addition this position must be on-premises with no ability to work-from-home
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all external and internal customers and communicate in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner at all times
  • Obtain competency in ADACO purchasing software as Property Administrator
  • Ensure all delivered items are verified and defect free
  • Supervise the rotation of all products using the (FIFO) First In First Out method
  • Maintain a professional work environment with all members of staff
  • Participate in and support all company training programs
  • Maintain complete knowledge of the correct maintenance and use of equipment: use equipment only as intended
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas
  • Attend designated meetings
  • Foster and promote a cooperative working climate, maximizing productivity and employee morale

Education & Experience:

  • Requires two (2) years progressive experience in Shipping/Receiving/Logistics
  • Associate's degree in business or related field is preferred, unless otherwise waived, as based on determined experience and accomplishments
  • Excellent interpersonal, guest service, leadership, communication, analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office, to include reporting tools such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to work on your feet for long periods of time.
  • Fast paced movements are required to go from one part of the restaurant to another.
  • Must be able to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 35 pounds.
  • Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift, bend and climb stairs for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, reach, push, twist, walk, crouch, and squat.
