Job description

Baton Rouge: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Purchasing Coordinator/Supply Chain Associate to support purchasing, inventory coordination, vendor communication, and material planning in a fast-paced office environment. This is a full-time position, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM. The ideal candidate will have strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and experience in purchasing, supply chain, inventory, or material planning.


Essential Duties:
• Create and submit purchase orders and maintain purchasing documentation
• Manage purchasing requisitions and related processes
• Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, lead times, deliveries, quality issues, and credits
• Coordinate material releases and deliveries based on production requirements
• Monitor open purchase orders, receipts, shortages, and late materials
• Communicate material availability and shortages to internal departments
• Coordinate and prioritize incoming materials to support production schedules
• Maintain accurate receiving and inventory records
• Maintain vendor documentation and required compliance records
• Update purchasing and inventory information within the ERP system
• Coordinate inbound loads and delivery schedules for purchased materials
• Assist with material bids, pricing, and cost-saving initiatives
• Track slow-moving and aged inventory and coordinate appropriate disposition
• Assist with inventory audits and verification as needed
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to materials and suppliers
• Ensure purchasing and inventory activities follow applicable quality, food safety, and GMP requirements


Requirements/Skills:
• 1–3 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, inventory, material planning, or a related field
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills required
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Experience with or familiarity with an ERP system
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving and follow-through skills
• Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to excellence
• Experience with material planning is a plus
• Familiarity with modern supply chain practices and procedures is a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Reliable attendance and punctuality required


Physical Requirements:
• Primarily an office-based position requiring extended periods of computer and phone use
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the office as needed
• Ability to occasionally visit production or inventory areas as required
