Otterbein at SpringMeade Health CenterOverview

Otterbein at SpringMeade Health Center is currently seeking a talented Part time Activities Assistant to join our team at our vibrant, not-for-profit retirement community. The Activities Assistant will assist in the coordinating, supervising and implementing of the activities in the Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing units.

Shift: Part Time 8:30am to 3:30am 20 to 29 hours per week and will work every other weekend Responsibilities
  • Conducts and/or assist with resident activities under supervision of director.
  • Communicates residents' needs to appropriate department.
  • Assists residents to and from activities.
  • Attends resident care conferences as needed.
  • Documents in resident records as required.
  • Promotes positive public relations for the facility.
  • Maintains awareness of policies, procedures and mission statement as appropriate.
  • Assists with development of and posts monthly/daily activities calendar; plans and confirms resident activities.
  • Assists with volunteer program as needed.
  • Assists with caring for pets and plants.
  • Purchases pre-approved department supplies.
  • Assists with decorating facility for special occasions/holidays.
  • Provides stimulation during one-on-one visits.
  • Respects and maintains residents' dignity, individuality, privacy and confidentiality, knowledgeable of Residents' Bill of Rights.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma is required
  • Experience: One to two years' activities assisting is preferred
  • Must possess a caring, compassionate, energetic personality and a desire to provide entertaining and stimulating activities to enhance the quality of life and holistic growth of residents
  • Must be detail oriented and have excellent literacy and writing, documentation, communications and interpersonal abilities
  • Must be willing to drive bus for resident outings
