Job Description:    Administrative Assistant - Athletics & Activities    FLSA Status:     Non-Exempt
Department:    Athletics & Activities   Reports to:    Athletics & Activities Directors
Location:    Athletics & Activities Office    Salary Scale:    Classified Pay Scale
Position Type:    Full-Time    Salary Range:    F0 $19.72/hr - F30 ($26.57/hr)
Description of Position: The primary function is to provide centralized administrative support and ensure the smooth operation of daily departmental activities.





ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage office operations, scheduling , and correspondence.
Assist with purchasing, budgeting, invoices, and travel documentation.
Maintain records related to eligibility, compliance, and student-athlete documentation.
Assist with facility scheduling and communication among coaches, officials, and vendors.




Serve as primary point of contact for visiors, parents, and community stakeholders.
Communicate with parents, students, staff, etc. in person, by telephone or letter for the purpose of providing information on a variety of departmental activities.
Maintain high standards of confidentiality of all employee, student, and parent information.
 Prepare reports, meeting materials, and departmental communications.


 Other duties as assigned by the Athletics & Activities Directors.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 
High School Diploma.
Clearance of a criminal background check (Mississippi, FBI and Child Protective Registry) before gaining employment.
Extensive knowledge of computer software.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines. 
Excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills.






Ability to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances.
Extremely organized and able to multitask. 


PREFERRED SKILLS
Five (5) years of job-related experience.
