Job description

The Purchasing Assistant will maintain files, logs, records or invoices, purchase orders and other related documentation within the Procure-to-Pay team. The Purchasing Assistant may also gather and maintain information within proprietary computer systems. The Purchasing Assistant ensures that transaction entry verification procedures are followed and may assist in expediting orders. Tasks involve a degree of forward planning and anticipation of needs/issues. Resolves non-routine issues escalated from more junior team members.

The ideal candidate will work a hybrid schedule, 3 days per week, in one of these preferred locations:

  • Florence, NJ

  • St. Louis, MO

  • Tempe, AZ

  • Whitestown, IN

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with inventory purchase order tracking and backorder updates for Home Delivery pharmacies and vendors.

  • Update vendor purchase order delivery promises to reflect accurate delivery dates for buyer action.

  • Run daily reports for metric and issue visibility for buyers and leaders.

  • Create purchase orders for 340B clients and Drug Sourcing directed investment buys.

  • Review vendor purchase order submission issues and research to resolve.

  • Place purchase orders for a specific formulary of drugs.

  • Assist buyers on placing purchase orders during high volume periods.

  • Assist with project work to meet internal department goals.

  • Additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 3+ years relevant experience in purchasing, inventory control, warehouse, receiving or related field

  • Demonstrated communication (oral and written) and presentation skills.

  • Ability to effectively collaborate with cross functional teams, key stakeholders and partners, and external suppliers.

  • Ability to multi-task and meet competing deadlines.

  • Proficient using MS Office software, specifically Excel.

  • Knowledge of Oracle or related inventory management system preferred.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an hourly rate of 23 - 35 USD / hourly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
