Purchasing Coordinator
 
Our client is seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to support the procurement and inventory functions within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials, maintaining supplier relationships, and supporting production requirements through effective purchasing and inventory coordination. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach.
 
Your success will be defined by your ability to:
  • Coordinate the procurement of ingredients, packaging, supplies, equipment, and services
  • Create, maintain, and monitor purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of materials
  • Work closely with suppliers to confirm pricing, quantities, lead times, and delivery schedules
  • Communicate material shortages, delays, and supply issues to key stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records within ERP and inventory management systems
  • Support supplier performance management and assist with supplier onboarding activities
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchasing activities to support production requirements
  • Identify potential supply risks and implement proactive solutions to prevent disruptions
  • Support inventory optimization initiatives and material planning efforts
Your strengths include:
  • 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory, or supply chain roles
  • Experience within food manufacturing or a similar manufacturing environment considered an asset
  • Experience working with ERP or inventory management systems
  • Strong understanding of purchasing, inventory control, and material planning principles
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication and supplier relationship management abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and related business systems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and work collaboratively across departments
