Job description

Our client located in Bayshore is looking to hire an experienced Purchasing Assistant on a direct hire basis. This Purchasing Assistant position is a full time role and is on site. The standard hours are Monday – Friday from 9am – 5:30pm. We are looking for a hands-on person with great negotiation skills and a keen eye for detail to buy various goods for our company.

JOB TITLE: Purchasing Assistant

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Purchasing Assistant to join our clients team. Our client is growing and expanding, that is why this position is open.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: (Includes but not limited to)

  • Conducting research on potential products, vendors, and services, and comparing price and quality to ensure the best deal.
  • Contacting different vendors and clients to negotiate the best contracts.
  • Liaising with delivery and warehouse teams to ensure goods are received on time.
  • Monitoring inventory and writing orders to refill stock.
  • Inspecting purchased products upon delivery and reporting any issues timely.
  • Updating all records of purchased products.
  • Writing reports on purchases made and performing cost analyses.
  • Work with Finance to help align purchase orders to invoices
  • Ability to juggle multiple responsibilities at once and make important decisions in fast-paced environment.

  • Sound research, networking and negotiating skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong analytical and math skill.

Salary is based upon experience but the target is $58k-60k plus a complete benefits package.
