The mission of Purchase To Pay (P2P) is to leverage resources by consolidating vendor master setup, tactical purchasing, accounts payable, and expense statements into a single organization. The P2P team facilitates the process from vendor setup to order placement to payment to the provider. By combining these areas, we can effectively improve processes, tools, and policies to create value beyond transactional efficiency.
PURCHASING ASSISTANTS AT TSP TYPICALLY HAVE THE FOLLOWING JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create purchase orders for goods and services in line with standard processes and cycle time expectations
  • Examine and analyze purchase requisitions and quotes for completeness and accuracy of information
  • Maintain a queue of incoming purchase requisitions
  • Update delivery schedule and pricing based on vendor acknowledgment, and ensure that the purchase and receipt are properly documented and recorded
  • Executing PO change requests in a timely manner
  • Interface effectively with vendors, accounts payable, vendor master, and logistics departments
  • Resolve problems with invoices, supplier maintenance, and receiving discrepancies
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to manage orders based on lead times, business needs, and price changes
  • Diligently understand and follow policies and business rules that relate to purchasing activities
  • Develop a strong understanding of all P2P processes
  • Support and contribute to global P2P priorities
  • Utilize reports to work and resolve issues as identified
  • Respond to vendor and internal inquiries or issues in a timely manner
  • Use knowledge gained from daily activities to recommend process improvements
  • Understand the impact of process changes outside of P2P

THE IDEAL PERSON FOR THIS ROLE WILL HAVE EXPERIENCE SUCH AS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with transactional processes or data entry in SAP or a similar ERP system
  • Intermediate level of computer literacy and working knowledge of MS Office, specifically Outlook, SharePoint, and Excel
  • Capacity to work independently or within a team environment, follow directions, troubleshoot, and meet goals and objectives
  • Ability to manage time and execute tasks efficiently
  • Meticulous attention to detail, multitasking skills
  • Must be an independent thinker, and have the ability to make quick decisions, tough decisions, and drive the best results for the company
  • Must have organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Confidence in approaching and communicating with internal and external stakeholders across all organizational levels
