Inside Sales (La Vernia, TX)
Pay: $30 - $37 per hour DOE

POSITION SUMMARY:
The role of Inside Sales involves selling or introducing company products or services to established clients. The Inside Sales associate also fields customer calls and questions regarding product specifications, availability, and pricing. Provides support to the Outside Sales representative by creating quotations as requested on standard products, communicating pertinent information regarding customers in the territory and assisting with the overall coordination of product delivery with an emphasis on customer satisfaction. Trouble shoots and provides product solutions and support for customers as needed. Locations with inventory may have a will call counter for direct customer sales and support.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent from an accredited institution; Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering preferred.
  • 1-3 years prior sales experience or relevant training in Inside Sales.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly proficient computer skills with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet.
  • Demonstrates problem-solving skills, extremely organized with a keen attention to details and accuracy.
  • Valid driver’s license with good MVR required; able to travel occasionally within the region.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintains excellent customer service and satisfaction.
  • Works closely with Sales and Purchasing departments and personnel.
  • Maintains knowledge of company products including ability to size and recommend.
  • Displays a flexible attitude that results in teamwork.
  • Provides timely service in order processing, quotations and customer response.
  • Answers all calls in a timely manner.
  • Maintains database of current clients and communicates changes in personnel with sales reps and managers.
  • Processes cancellations or changes in sales orders and communicates the changes with the related departments.
  • Emphasizes service benefits of the company, discusses credit terms, price quotes, and prepares sales order reports or forms as needed.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Provides feedback and information to department manager regarding order and customer problems.
  • Participates in training sessions, meetings, skill building and professional development classes.
  • May process and enter agent orders/invoices for outside sales personnel.
  • May enter purchase orders for select assigned product lines as needed.
  • Purchase non-stock items to fulfill customer orders.
  • Locations with will call sales counter will also have to handle direct facing customers by filling orders, getting appropriate payment method, signatures for NET 30 orders and processing them daily through accounting.
  • Checks and responds to all company communications on all scheduled workdays, including voice mail, emails, and text messages. Makes sure that old voice mails are cleared regularly so that the mailbox does not get full.
  • Complies with all applicable Company safety requirements.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

WORK CONDITIONS:
  • Able to sit and work at computer keyboard for extended period.
  • Able to perform general office administrative activities of copying, filing, faxing, and using the telephone.
  • Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds on occasion.
  • Travel occasionally by conventional means to branch offices and locations within the region.
  • Maintain regular and on-time attendance. Hours may exceed 40 hours per week.
