The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing inventory levels, tracking inventory movements, and ensuring inventory accuracy within the organization. This role involves maintaining inventory systems, collaborating with various departments to ensure materials availability, and implementing best practices in inventory management. The specialist will work closely with warehouse, and purchasing to support efficient operations and drive continuous improvement in inventory control processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Track and manage inventory levels to ensure alignment with demand and minimize stock discrepancies.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and reconciliations to verify stock accuracy and address any variances.
  • Maintain and update inventory management systems, ensuring real-time data accuracy.
  • Organize inventory items to ensure efficient operational flow.
  • Strategic organizational thinking to maximize order picking
  • Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and production teams to ensure materials availability and proper storage conditions.
  • Procurement of regularly ordered sourced items.
  • Build and manage relationships with vendors, negotiate pricing, and monitor delivery timelines
  • Identify and investigate discrepancies in inventory, addressing root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures and policies to enhance operational efficiency.

  • Strong knowledge of inventory control processes, best practices, and systems (e.g., ERP software, WMS).
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other inventory tracking software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
