Job description

The Opportunity

The Alterations Associate will be responsible for all aspects of alterations, including pinning, fitting, marking, and altering of garments. The Alterations Associate is responsible for providing alterations services to customers in a professional and timely manner.

What you'll get to do
  • Fit, alter, repair, and make made-to-measure clothing, according to customers' and manufacturing specifications
  • Partner with Sales Associates in servicing clients to provide exceptional service during fittings
  • Assemble garment parts and join parts with basting stitches, using needles and thread or sewing machines as necessary
  • Fit on customers and ensure proper sizing and that alterations are to sales associates and customer's requirements
  • Communicating with clients to understand their needs and speak to the alterations process

Must have knowledge of all alterations equipment and have experience in sewing dresses, altering high-end materials, and garments of complicated construction.

  • Minimum 4 years experience in other boutique/ store environments, ideally with altering luxury garments.
  • Knows how to interact with clients in fittings
  • Highly motivated, detailed and dedicated, and works efficiently under pressure.
  • Responsible and able to complete projects on time
  • Bend, kneel during fittings to accurately mark garments.
  • Lift and carry garments (including gowns up to 10lbs)
