The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is seeking an Editorial Coordinator, Journals to join our team. The Editorial Coordinator serves as an integral part of the Journals Editorial team by supporting all stages of peer review for several leading engineering journals from initial submission through handoff to ASCE Production under the supervision of a Managing Editor.The Editorial Coordinator often serves as the first line of communication for authors, editors, and peer reviewers and, therefore, represents the quality and reputation of the journals. The successful candidate will produce clear written materials, prioritize and manage concurrent assignments, and contribute to the timely delivery of high-quality work.What You'll DoAs an Editorial Coordinator, you'll help ensure the smooth and timely progression of manuscripts from submission through peer review and into production. You will:Process new and revised manuscript submissions and editorial decisionsUtilize and oversee agentic, AI-enabled tools within established editorial workflowsManage and respond to journal inbox inquiriesRun and monitor reports on manuscript turnaround times and assist with follow-upSupport editorial board meetings by preparing reports and taking notes as neededTroubleshoot submission system issues and provide administrative and technical supportPartner with Managing Editor(s)on coordinating special collectionsContribute as an active member of the Editorial team and Publications Division by participating in meetings and collaborating with colleagues across teamsLimited domestic travel within the U.S. may be required, comprising 1-2 trips of less than a week per year.What You BringOne to 3 years of relevant experience within scholarly publishing is preferred.
