Be Part of What's Next

Help shape the future of media partnerships by connecting some of the world's most recognized consumer brands with the power of Hearst Magazines. As Sales Director, you'll play a critical role in driving revenue growth, building strategic client relationships, and creating innovative cross-platform solutions across Hearst's portfolio.

About Hearst Magazines (Why Us?)

Hearst Magazines is home to 30 iconic brands that inspire, inform, and connect audiences across every platform. From trusted editorial to innovative marketing solutions, we partner with advertisers to create meaningful campaigns that deliver measurable results across print, digital, social, video, experiential, and emerging platforms.

Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)

  • Drive advertising revenue across a portfolio of CPG accounts, including food & beverage, personal care, baby goods, and related categories, while identifying and developing new business opportunities.
  • Represent Hearst Magazines' portfolio of 30 brands by developing strategic, cross-platform advertising solutions spanning print, digital, social, custom content, and experiential programs.
  • Prospect and cultivate new client and agency relationships, expanding category opportunities and building a strong pipeline of future business.
  • Execute sales strategies, deliver compelling client presentations, and develop customized proposals that align with client objectives and business goals.
  • Partner with internal marketing, research, editorial, content, and talent teams to translate client KPIs and RFP requirements into innovative, results-driven solutions.
  • Manage sales activity, pipeline, and revenue forecasting through Salesforce while maintaining accurate business reporting and monthly projections.
  • Provide market intelligence and category insights to leadership, helping shape sales strategies and identify new growth opportunities.
  • Achieve and consistently exceed revenue goals while delivering an exceptional client experience.

Qualifications (What We're Looking For)

  • 3+ years of media experience at an agency or media company.
  • 2+ years of digital sales or sales-adjacent experience with experience supporting relevant CPG categories.
  • Established relationships with key client and agency decision-makers and a proven ability to develop new business opportunities.
  • Demonstrated success selling integrated, cross-platform media solutions across digital, print, social, branded content, and experiential offerings.
  • A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and takes ownership of driving results.
  • Strong analytical thinking, strategic planning, creative problem-solving, and sound business judgment.
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with exceptional follow-through and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and social media platforms; Salesforce experience is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings, client events and industry events.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid schedule based in New York City.

Benefits (What We Offer)

  • Work with the Best: Collaborate with top-tier professionals across media, advertising, tech, fashion, lifestyle, and publishing, shaping the future of these dynamic industries.
  • Grow Your Skills: Unlock your potential with access to innovative training programs, immersive workshops, and exclusive industry events.
  • Work-Life Harmony: Enjoy the flexibility of hybrid work, empowering you to balance professional success with personal priorities.
  • Foster Connection & Belonging: Join our Employee Resource Groups and help create a welcoming workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered.
  • Wellness First: Prioritize your well-being with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance from Day 1.
  • Plan for Your Financial Future: Enjoy competitive financial perks, including a 401(k) plan with a generous company match.

The base salary range for this role is $116,000-$135,000. This role is also eligible for bonus and/or commission compensation. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
