Role Overview

Indie Consulting is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and solutions-oriented Public Relations Operations Manager to support the Public Relations team on a leading global beauty client.


This role is ideal for a project manager who enjoys bringing structure, accountability, and momentum to complex marketing and communications programs. While supporting PR initiatives, campaigns, activations, and events, this individual will serve as a critical operational partner to the PR team—ensuring projects move forward efficiently, stakeholders remain aligned, risks are identified early, and deliverables are completed with excellence.


The ideal candidate brings 4–7 years of experience in project management, account management, communications, public relations, or integrated marketing. They are known for exceptional organization, strong judgment, proactive communication, and the ability to translate conversations into clear actions and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:
Program Management & Operations

  • Serve as an operational lead across multiple PR initiatives, ensuring projects remain on track from planning through execution.
  • Translate meetings, discussions, and stakeholder feedback into actionable project plans with clear owners and timelines.
  • Anticipate risks, bottlenecks, and resource gaps, proactively escalating concerns and proposing solutions.
  • Review deliverables and identify inconsistencies, errors, or opportunities for improvement before stakeholder review.
  • Apply brand guidelines and campaign objectives to ensure work meets quality standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, communication processes, and team efficiency.
  • Drive accountability across stakeholders to ensure commitments are completed and projects continue moving forward.

PR Support & Project Management

  • Provide day-to-day project management support to the PR Managers and Head of PR + Influence.
  • Own and maintain project timelines, workbacks, trackers, status reports, and action plans across multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Coordinate cross-functional deliverables to ensure projects remain on schedule and stakeholders remain aligned.
  • Own meeting documentation and follow-up, translating discussions into actionable next steps with clear ownership and timelines.
  • Drive accountability across stakeholders to ensure commitments are completed and projects continue moving forward.
  • Support campaign planning and brainstorming sessions, documenting recommendations, requirements, and project deliverables.
  • Build and maintain project trackers, contact databases, asset repositories, and reporting dashboards.
  • Assist in preparing, routing, and tracking approvals for messaging documents, media materials, and campaign assets.
  • Maintain visibility across all active workstreams and proactively communicate status updates, risks, and dependencies.

Event, Activation & Seeding Support

  • If local: Provide in-person event support for NYC-based activations, press events, agency meetings, and brand experiences.
  • Coordinate event timelines, logistics, vendor communication, materials, and post-event reporting.
  • Manage event workbacks to ensure all milestones and deliverables are completed on schedule.
  • Support seamless onsite execution while maintaining alignment with brand standards and objectives.
  • Manage end-to-end product seeding programs, including inventory coordination, shipment tracking, reporting, and stakeholder communication.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure activation and seeding efforts align with broader campaign priorities.

Agency & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner directly with agency teams, serving as a key point of coordination for project communications, asset routing, timelines, and feedback management.
  • Facilitate communication between internal and external stakeholders to ensure deliverables remain on track.
  • Maintain project visibility through regular status updates and proactive communication.
  • Help establish and reinforce strong project management processes, documentation, and ways of working.

Measurement & Reporting

  • Track earned media performance and campaign KPIs across PR initiatives.
  • Compile reporting, media coverage, insights, and campaign highlights for internal and client-facing presentations.
  • Maintain reporting dashboards and ensure campaign results are organized, accurate, and easily accessible.
  • Support post-campaign recaps by documenting key learnings, performance outcomes, and recommendations.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • 4–7 years of experience in project management, account management, communications, public relations, integrated marketing, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex projects across multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and recommend solutions.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Proven ability to independently manage priorities and drive work forward with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with agencies, vendors, clients, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and project management tools such as Asana, Monday.com, Airtable, Smartsheet, or similar.

Preferred:

  • Experience in beauty, consumer goods, lifestyle, fashion, or entertainment marketing.
  • Experience working in both agency and brand-side environments.
  • Familiarity with PR tracking platforms, media monitoring tools, and reporting systems.
  • Experience supporting large-scale events, partnerships, or integrated marketing campaigns.
