Job description

Highly responsible administrative and specialized public safety position within the Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Department. Responsible for managing the Department's initiatives and objectives to achieve and maintain state, federal, and national accreditations. Work requires extensive project management skills and a combination of technical writing expertise, accreditation compliance knowledge, and proficiency in data-driven decision-making to support organizational excellence and regulatory adherence. Work is performed independently and is evaluated by an administrative superior through conferences, reports, and results obtained. Responsible for technical data analysis, statistical evaluation, and managing all accreditation processes, particularly Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI), Insurance Services Office (ISO), and Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS). Requires coordination and conducting a Community Risk Assessment Standards of Cover (SOC), and developing, managing, and implementing strategic/business management procedural methods, including assisting the Planning Division with developing performance measures, and coordinating the maintenance, storage, and usage of all records, data, and associated documentation. Additionally, it will direct the departmental submittal of the application(s) to all assigned accrediting bodies, to include Fire and Emergency Service Self-Assessment (FESSAM) and all required recurring compliance reports as required for all accreditation bodies. This classification is appointed by the Fire Chief and reports to the Division Chief of Communications and Strategic Initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following:
• A Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Data Science, Public Administration, Fire Science, Healthcare Administration, or related field; minimum of five (5) years of experience in accreditation management, compliance, or a related technical role,
OR
• A Master's Degree in Statistics, Data Science, Public Administration, Fire Science, Healthcare Administration, or related field; minimum of three (3) years of experience in accreditation management, compliance, or a related technical role,
OR
• An unrelated Bachelor's Degree; minimum of six (6) years of experience in accreditation management, compliance, or a related technical role,
OR
• An Associate's Degree in Statistics, Data Science, Public Administration, Fire Science, Healthcare Administration, or related field; minimum of seven (7) years of experience in accreditation management, compliance, or a related technical role,
OR
• Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of nine (9) years of experience in accreditation management, compliance, or a related technical role.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include:
• Designations or certifications related to accreditation, quality management, or data analysis,
• Experience with public safety, emergency management, fire services, or Emergency Medical Services (EMS) accreditation, and
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and industry best practices in accreditation and compliance.
