Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The Department of Psychology is responsible for teaching GEC courses in Psychology. The department also houses degree programs in English, Foreign Languages and Interdisciplinary Studies.
Primary Purpose of Position
To teach Graduate level clinical courses and clinical related undergraduate courses.
Hold office hours for planning, grading, and meeting with students.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The position is for an Psychology Adjunct faculty with an emphasis on classroom management and service to the department. Computer knowledge and willingness to train is mandatory. Use of University tools provided such as Canvas is required. Being able to communicate with students is necessary and expected. Candidates should have a PhD or PsyD in psychology. They should be licensed, practicing in North Carolina, and be willing to supervise Practicum students. Teaching experience at the graduate or undergraduate level is preferred, along with lesson-planning and class-management skills. Familiarity with the Canvas platform is also preferable. Testing knowledge of and/or experience with various assessments, including personality, cognitive, neuropsychological, and psychoeducational assessments, as well as report writing, is required. Therapeutic experience with and/or knowledge of various paradigms, such as psychodynamic therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, Adlerian therapy, Gestalt therapy, Existential therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Family Therapy, is highly recommended. Familiarity with writing treatment plans and progress notes is also desired.

Ph D or Psy. D in Psychology or other related field
Licenses or Certification required by Statute or Regulation
Candidates should have a PhD or PsyD in psychology. They should be licensed, practicing in North Carolina, and be willing to supervise Practicum students.
