To thrive in a PSLF-eligible role, you typically need the standard credentials and qualifications required for your specific public service profession, such as teaching, healthcare, government, or nonprofit work. Familiarity with organizational systems, compliance regulations, and sometimes specialized certifications relevant to the field are important. Strong interpersonal communication, resilience, and a commitment to serving the community make individuals stand out in these positions. In summary, Pslf Eligible refers to borrowers working in qualifying public service roles who can benefit from the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. Loan Officers, on the other hand, are professionals in the banking industry focusing on lending services. While both roles may involve finance, only Pslf Eligible individuals can pursue PSLF benefits.

What does it mean to be PSLF eligible?

Being PSLF eligible means that you meet the requirements for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program, which forgives the remaining balance on your Direct Loans after you have made 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan while working full-time for a qualifying public service employer. Eligible employers include government organizations and many nonprofit organizations. It’s important to ensure your loans, employer, and repayment plan all meet the PSLF criteria to qualify for forgiveness.

What types of roles or employers typically qualify as PSLF eligible, and how can I determine if a specific position meets the requirements?

PSLF-eligible roles are generally full-time positions with government organizations or qualifying nonprofit employers, such as public schools, universities, and 501(c)(3) organizations. To confirm eligibility, job seekers should verify that the employer is a qualifying organization and that the position is considered full-time by both the employer and the PSLF program guidelines. Reviewing the official PSLF employer search tool and consulting HR about employment status can help ensure your role meets the necessary criteria for loan forgiveness.

A True West Texas Career Home
If you are a Physical Therapist with a servant's heart looking for a genuine community, you will love what we've built in San Angelo. Our 200-bed non-profit hospital perfectly marries West Texas heritage with modern comforts, offering a brand-new, state-of-the-art Ortho Clinic where our therapy staff takes pride in "doing life" together. Whether it's enjoying walkable downtown restaurants or heading to a weekend rodeo, our team is as connected outside the clinic as they are within it. Backed by young, innovative leadership, we provide experienced clinicians the room to specialize while offering new graduates a dedicated six-month mentorship program to ensure a confident start to their careers.
Clinical Excellence and Quality Care
We prioritize quality care over volume, utilizing a one-on-one treatment model at 75% productivity. Your day will consist of 12 to 15 patients with 45-minute evaluations and 30-minute treatments, primarily focusing on adult and teen orthopedic cases like total joints, ligament repairs, and pre-hab. Because we are a non-profit, you'll benefit from PSLF eligibility alongside a competitive base salary of $80,000 to $100,000, loan forgiveness, and relocation assistance. We believe in true work-life balance, which is why our Monday through Friday day shift comes with no weekends, no holidays, and 22 days of PTO to help you recharge.
The San Angelo Lifestyle
Life in San Angelo offers a laid-back vibe with a cost of living 17% below the national average and 250 sunny days a year to enjoy local lakes, rivers, and State Parks.
