Location of Position:
This position is a hybrid position, with two days a week being required in the NYC office location. Travel to jobsites will be required on an as-needed basis.

Position Summary
The Assistant Project Manager, Construction role will support the construction team and Senior Project Managers in planning, coordinating, executing, and overseeing solar and battery storage construction projects on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards. The APM will play a critical role in managing day-to-day project operations, maintaining project documentation, coordinating with EPCs and equipment vendors, budgeting and completing cash management, and ensuring quality projects are placed-in-service and brought to substantial completion.  The ideal candidate will also be AI-curious and forward-thinking, who actively integrates AI tools into their daily professional routine 
Core Responsibilities
Project Coordination and Operations
  • Act as the main point of contact on projects of varying size and type
  • Transition projects from development complete stage to turnover to asset management team
  • Assist in preparation of RFPs and bidding processes
  • Assist in contract preparation and negotiation
  • Generate schedules as needed using Microsoft Project to assess project timelines
  • Monitor project progress and report back to the team
Maintain Project Documentation
  • Review project documents such as PVSysts, civil, structural, and electrical drawings, permits, leases, interconnection agreements, etc.
  • Maintain organized project files such as contracts, purchase orders, safety plans, RFIs, submittals, QA-QC reports, meeting minutes, monthly reports, close-out documentation, etc.
  • Review contractor generated files such as RFIs, submittals, and QA-QC reporting and provide comments/feedback as necessary
  • Prepare internal reports as required
  • Maintain internal logs and record keeping as required
  • Complete other miscellaneous project documentation, such as EIA reporting, project incentive paperwork, utility and interconnection portal uploads, GATS and PSC registration, insurance and bonding requirements, etc.
Coordinate with EPC and Equipment Vendors
  • Meet with the contractor and run/host contractor meetings to determine project status
  • Complete site visits at project milestones to review EPC progress
  • Support procurement of materials and equipment, including issuing POs and tracking deliveries
  • Coordinate storage and freight for owner-supplied material
Budget and Cash Management
  • Review and oversee all contractor/EPC/and equipment vendor invoices
  • Work with accounting to guarantee all invoices are processed and provide information as needed
  • Utilize CleanCapital budgeting procedures to analyze project costs and forecast cash management needs
  • Negotiate change orders
  • Identify potential project cost overage and discuss with Senior Project Managers

Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management preferred.

Technical Skills and Experience
  • 2-3+ years of experience in the following areas:
    • Construction Management
    • Budgeting, Cost Control, and Invoicing
    • Scheduling
    • Contract/PO Review and Negotiation
  • Must have previous experience as a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager
  • Must have previous experience in renewable energy and solar projects
  • Proven AI literacy, including understanding AI strengths, limitations, and ethical considerations

Technical/Program Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Project
  • Proficient (or familiar with) in Bluebeam Revu
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical drawings

Psychosocial Skills /Human Skills/Behavioral Skills
  • Must have the ability to define issues, analyze problems, evaluate alternatives, and develop sound conclusions
