Responsibilities
Position Summary
The Manager of Inflight Operations is responsible for providing leadership and oversight of operational performance to all PSA Flight Attendants (FA) and staff with a focus on their assigned location. Their mission is to inspire our team members to achieve the highest levels of performance. This should be achieved by informing, educating, and coaching our team members in a positive and proactive manner. The Manager of Inflight Operations assesses performance, appearance and conduct in accordance with regulations, company policy and standards, and anticipates Inflight Operations department-related needs. They will focus on ensuring PSA is providing responsible leadership to all key stakeholders while ensuring we consistently deliver safe and efficient operations. They will need to develop and foster relationships with our front-line employees, the staff, the station, as well as the elected officials of the Association of Flight Attendants (AFA).
Job Responsibilities
  • Monitors the domicile's daily operation to ensure awareness of its operational performance and meets all operational requirements.
  • Analyze trends and patterns of operational and team member performance/reliability and identify potential solutions to ensure the highest levels of performance.
  • Conduct investigatory hearings and issue corrective action as applicable and necessary.
  • Provide support to Crew Resources in maintaining flight schedules during normal and irregular operations (IROP).
  • Establish strong relationships with PSA and Station managers, supervisors, Flight Attendants (FA), and Association of Flight Attendants (AFA) leadership.
  • Collaborate with all internal departments to ensure the highest levels of consistency and transparency.
  • Provide Inflight Services department policy guidance to FA's, staff, and AFA.
  • Conduct terminal visits to promote on time performance, and to convey visibility and transparency in everything we do.
  • Play an active role in the grievance process to understand the issues facing our team members and ensuring fair and equitable treatment of all personnel.
  • Act as the Manager on Call on a rotational basis as required.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and familiarization sessions for all new employees, helping to ensure a smooth transition from the training environment to an active FA flight status.
  • Hires, develops, and mentors base management and administrative staff, at their assigned location.
  • Coordinate and oversee special activities and/or initiatives as assigned.
  • Show fiscal responsibility in the administration of running the operation.
  • Assist in conducting interviews for special project functions, recruiters, Check Flight Attendants (CFA) and instructors as requested.
  • Communicate regularly with all members of the PSA team, including the Director of Inflight Operations, Assistant Director of Inflight Training and Standards, Inflight Operations and Training and Standards teams, Crew Scheduling, and AFA.
  • Be available as needed given the 24/7/365 nature of the airline business.
  • Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Specifics
Qualifications
Required
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Required technical skills and experience including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Obtain/retain a Flight Attendant (FA) qualification and maintain currency as a PSA Airlines Flight Attendant and Check Flight Attendant on all aircraft types.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to speak/read/write in English.
  • If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred
  • Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, CFR Part 121.
  • Previous experience in leadership in an Inflight operational position.
  • Working knowledge of the PSA Association of Flight Attendant (AFA) Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
  • Associate's degree or higher preferred.
Additional Information
Supervisory Responsibility: This is a supervisory position.

Delegation: In absence, responsibilities may be delegated to the Director of Inflight Operations or designee.
Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines and filing cabinets.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb up and down stairs; lift weight up to 25 lbs; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Security Clearance: All employees are required to pass the fingerprint-based criminal history records check (CHRC) per 49CFR1542.209 as well as a pre-employment drug screen.
