What is a proxy specialist?

Proxy Specialists are professionals who manage and oversee the use of proxy servers within an organization’s IT infrastructure. They are responsible for configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting proxy servers to ensure secure and efficient internet access and data privacy. Proxy Specialists also monitor network traffic, enforce access policies, and may assist in protecting against cyber threats. Their expertise helps organizations maintain compliance with security standards and optimize network performance.

How does a proxy specialist typically collaborate with IT security and network teams in a corporate environment?

Proxy Specialists often work closely with IT security and network teams to ensure secure, efficient, and compliant internet access for users. They are responsible for configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting proxy servers while coordinating with security teams to implement access policies and respond to threats. Regular meetings and incident response drills are common, and Proxy Specialists may also assist with audits and compliance reviews. This collaborative environment helps maintain a robust security posture and supports business continuity.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a proxy specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Proxy Specialist, you need a solid understanding of proxy voting processes, corporate governance, and attention to regulatory compliance, often supported by a bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field. Familiarity with proxy management platforms, SEC filing systems, and market data tools is typically required. Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills help you interpret complex proxy materials and interact with stakeholders effectively. These competencies ensure accurate handling of proxy materials, informed voting decisions, and compliance with industry regulations.

Job description

Open to full-time or part-time employment.

Sophisticated Hearing is an independently owned audiology practice serving the greater Ridgewood community. They’re recognized for their thoughtful guidance, attentive support, and commitment to delivering hearing care that prioritizes each patient’s long-term success.

The team follows evidence-based best practices in audiology and believes that exceptional hearing care goes beyond tests and technology—it’s about personalized solutions, genuine compassion, and lasting relationships.

Position Overview

Sophisticated Hearing is seeking a compassionate and motivated Hearing Instrument Specialist to join their growing team.

This position offers a supportive, low-pressure environment focused on quality care rather than sales quotas or product upselling. Providers are encouraged to spend the time needed with each patient to deliver personalized, effective hearing solutions.

The ideal candidate is passionate about helping others hear better, values professionalism and empathy, and enjoys working collaboratively in a patient-first setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform hearing aid consultations, fittings, verification, and follow-up care in alignment with best practices.
  • Conduct hearing screenings and basic audiometric testing within the state licensure scope.
  • Provide tinnitus education and basic management support under audiologist supervision.
  • Fit and manage Lyric extended-wear devices (training and certification provided).
  • Educate patients and families on hearing aid use, maintenance, and realistic expectations.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold patient confidentiality.
  • Contribute to the ongoing success of the practice by fostering trust and long-term patient relationships.
Qualifications
  • Active New Jersey Hearing Instrument Specialist License
  • Proven experience with hearing aid fittings, verification, and patient counseling.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Commitment to ethical, patient-centered care.
Benefits
  • Salary plus Bonus potential ($105,000–$115,000)
  • Medical benefits package.
  • Matching retirement plan.
  • Generous paid time off (three weeks).
  • Continuing education and licensure support.
  • Flexible scheduling options for full-time or part-time providers.
