This is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a growing department and become an important part of its future. You’ll handle small installation projects, playground repairs, equipment replacements, and service work throughout Florida.

This is not an entry-level position. Some relevant hands-on experience is required. We’re looking for someone who already knows their way around tools and job sites and is ready to develop specialized skills in playground and recreational equipment installation.

For someone who performs well, takes ownership, solves problems in the field, and wants more responsibility, there is significant opportunity to grow as the department expands.

Compensation

$25–$30 per hour, based on experience

  • Opportunities for overtime
  • Company vehicle provided for work
  • Travel expenses covered
  • Opportunities for increased responsibility and career growth based on performance
About Playmore

Playmore Recreational Products + Services has been serving Florida for more than 25 years. From our headquarters in Fort Myers, we help create, maintain, and improve playgrounds and recreational spaces for communities throughout the state.

We complete more than 150 major projects annually and work with leading manufacturers to provide playground equipment, safety surfacing, shade structures, site furnishings, outdoor fitness equipment, and more.

As a Certified Building Contractor (CBC1252224), Playmore provides customers with complete project support—from design and planning through installation, repair, replacement, and ongoing service.

We’ve built our reputation on quality work, dependable service, and a team that takes pride in doing the job right.

What You’ll Do

As a Playground Service & Installation Technician, you’ll be responsible for completing smaller installation and service projects throughout Florida.

Your work will include a combination of new installations, equipment repairs, component replacements, troubleshooting, and general playground service work.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assemble and install playground equipment, site furnishings, and related recreational products
  • Repair existing playground and recreational equipment
  • Remove and replace damaged, worn, or outdated components
  • Complete small renovation, retrofit, and equipment replacement projects
  • Diagnose equipment and installation issues in the field and determine appropriate solutions
  • Read and follow installation manuals, plans, technical drawings, and manufacturer specifications
  • Safely and efficiently operate hand tools, power tools, and installation equipment
  • Inspect completed work to ensure equipment is properly installed, secure, and functioning as intended
  • Maintain Playmore's quality and safety standards on every project
  • Work independently on smaller assignments and alongside the installation team on larger projects
  • Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, property managers, and site contacts
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
  • Travel throughout Florida approximately 50% of the time
What We’re Looking For

This position requires previous hands-on experience in construction, installation, repair, maintenance, carpentry, mechanical work, or a similar trade.

Playground-specific experience is a plus, but it is not required. We can teach the right person our products and installation standards. What we need is someone who already has a solid foundation of hands-on skills, knows how to work safely, and can be trusted to represent Playmore professionally in the field.

Required Qualifications
  • Previous relevant hands-on work experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to read and follow plans, installation manuals, technical drawings, and manufacturer instructions
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting and moving materials and working outdoors in Florida conditions
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for completing smaller projects correctly
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to job-site safety
  • Professional communication and customer-service skills
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout Florida, including overnight travel when required

Experience with construction, carpentry, equipment installation, equipment repair, maintenance, or playground installation is strongly preferred.

Why Join Playmore?

This isn't just another installation position. We’re building the next stage of our Installation Department, and we want people who can grow with it.

You’ll have the opportunity to develop specialized experience across installation, repair, replacement, troubleshooting, and project execution. As the department grows, strong performers can take on larger projects, greater responsibility, and expanded leadership opportunities.

Benefits & Perks
  • $25–$30 per hour
  • Overtime opportunities
  • Company vehicle
  • Travel expenses covered
  • Health, Dental & Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Mobile phone
  • Career growth opportunities

If you have hands-on trade experience, enjoy solving problems, take pride in quality work, and want an opportunity where strong performance can lead to something bigger, we’d like to hear from you.
