ProSidian Seeks a Communications Support Specialist - GSSC (Full-Time [W-2]) to support an engagement for the US Dept. of Energy (DOE) Hanford.  Preferred candidates present with relevant Government, Public Sector and Infrastructure (Nuclear and Environmental) Sector experience (functional area experience also ideal) 

This service supports with relevant Government, Public Sector and Infrastructure (Nuclear and Environmental) Sector experience (functional area experience also ideal) Sector Clients (For Present / Future Requirements) and ProSidian Team Members work as part of a Engagement Team Cadre (Labor Category ) to fulfill FFP - Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Task Order (TO) requirements for a provide Communications Support Services on behalf of The Department of Energy (DOE), Hanford Office of Communications (HOC) as part of The General Support Services Contract (GSSC).  The HOC Director will provide direction for this work. The successful contractor will have responsibility for execution of the itemized work scope below:

  • Media engagement materials, sometimes requiring technical research and understanding.
  • Communication products used to inform and educate various internal and external audiences and stakeholders
  • Development and coordination through review and approval process communication products, including but not limited to presentations, press releases, announcements, fact sheets, and fliers on tank farms and WTP topics for delivery at various stakeholder engagements, including the Hanford Advisory Board, Oregon Hanford Advisory Board, Hanford Communities, local decision-makers, Congressional and legislative staff, and others.

Qualifications

The Communications Support Specialist - GSSC shall have consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five (5) years, Must be able to use a computer to communicate via email; and proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and related tools and technology required for the position. Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria.  Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Working level knowledge of Hanford Site mission, activities and priorities.
  • Working level knowledge of DOE's program management practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of Hanford Site tank farm mission and status.
  • Working knowledge of Hanford Site Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant Project.
  • Experience writing for external non-technical audiences on highly technical topics.
  • Knowledge of media strategies and tools.
  • Broad knowledge of the Hanford stakeholder groups, sensitivities and concerns.
  • Proven ability to interface successfully with senior level management.
  • Ability to work with government and contractor personnel to problem solve and formulate strategies for success.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Expert knowledge of MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Excel, and/or other MS Office tools.
  • Identification of any conflicts, potential conflicts, or perceived conflicts of interest with any Hanford Site contractors. 
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID, a granted exception to vaccination for COVID, or able to meet entry and testing requirements for entrance and work in federal buildings.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • U.S.  Citizenship Required - You must be a United States Citizen

DELIVERABLES

Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria. The Communications Support Specialist shall ensure that duties are performed in a competent and professional manner that meets milestones/delivery schedules as outlined below:

Weekly Report. This report will address work accomplished, and deliverable progress to be provided to the technical monitor.

Monthly Report. This report will be a combination of the weekly status reports and shall be submitted with the monthly invoice. The report shall also include:

  •  Deliverable progress, and date(s) submitted if applicable, submitted within this invoice period.
  •  Work schedule for Contractor employees, to include any leave taken.

TRAVEL:  Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings, events, site visits, or other training requirements.  Travel is coordinated with the technical point of contact and approved in writing by the Contracting Officer in advance, is allowed, in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations. 

LOCATION:  Work shall be conducted at or in proximity to The Hanford Eastern Washington (Tri-Cities - Kennewick | Pasco | Richland) Area
