Job description

The scope of the Student Nurse Extern position encompasses a continuum of “nursing” care for adult with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Student Nurse Extern will function under the continuous guidance, supervision, assistance and support from both Registered Nurses and Licensed Practice Nurses. Student Nurse Externs will utilize the nursing process to guide the provision of novice level developmental disabilities nursing care for selected residents in all three (3) skill domains: [1] Clinical/Technical Skills, [2] Critical Thinking Skills, and [3] Interpersonal and Communication Skills.
