Looking for Experienced Machinist (with Prototype Experience)
Job Summary:
Responsible for creating precision prototypes of new medical device components. This role requires a high level of skill in machining, the ability to work from complex engineering drawings, and the flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing project requirements.
Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate a variety of machine tools, including CNC mills, lathes, and manual machines, to produce precision prototype parts.
  • Work closely with engineers and designers to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and models for prototype development.
  • Quickly develop and adjust CNC programs using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam) to achieve desired part geometries and tolerances.
  • Perform detailed inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, CMM) to ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues, make necessary adjustments, and implement improvements to enhance prototype accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide feedback on design feasibility and manufacturability.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring that all tools and equipment are in good working condition.
  • Document machining processes, setup instructions, and program modifications for future reference.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality control procedures, and regulatory requirements applicable to medical device manufacturing.

Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or technical certification in machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in CNC machining, with a focus on prototype development and precision machining.
  • Proficiency in CNC programming, setup, and operation of both manual and CNC machine tools.
