Job description

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Clinical Nurse to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care within Woodlands. The Clinical Nurse plays a vital role in coordinating care across the continuum while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. In this setting, the Clinical Nurse serves as both a clinical expert and patient advocate, contributing to seamless transitions of care, patient education, and care coordination for complex oncology populations, including Surgical Oncology and Infusion patients as needed.

The ideal candidate will bring nursing experience in an Ambulatory setting, as well as Oncology experience. Additionally, candidates with at least 1 year of nursing experience are preferred.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm. Some flexibility may be required.
Hourly breakdown of salary range:

  • Lead patients, families, and team members toward meeting future care needs
  • Organize and prioritize patient care team activities, including chemotherapy/biotherapy administration
  • Coordinate pump connects/disconnects, antibiotic therapy, IV fluids, and IV starts
  • Respond rapidly to chemotherapy reactions and clinical emergencies
  • Ensure continuity of care through patient education and service coordination
  • Practice autonomously within professional nursing scope

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: All clinical nurses with less than one year of registered nurse (RN) work experience will be required to participate in the Clinical Nurse Residency Program.
