Job description

Dana is a global leader in the supply of highly engineered driveline, sealing, and thermal-management technologies that improve the efficiency and performance of vehicles with both conventional and alternative-energy powertrains. Serving two primary markets - passenger vehicle and commercial truck - Dana provides the world's original-equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.
Job Purpose
This position is located in Napoleon, Ohio. The facility is a Dana Final Assembly plant for the Ford Bronco and Ranger products.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Review PLC logic & debug for proper content, error-proofing, and data collection function
• Lead in root cause investigations and eliminate downtime issues.
• Participate in lean plant floor layout (value-add, error-proof, visual factory, Kan Ban material flow)
• Lead in continuous improvement.
• Review and modify as necessary all equipment PMs and critical spares lists
• Interface with equipment vendor(s) to ensure system design, build, runoff and installation
• Participate in lean plant floor layout (value-add, error-proof, visual factory, Kan Ban material flow)
• Review and approve electrical and controls schematics and assembly system BOMs
• Review and modify as necessary all equipment PMs and critical spares lists
• Review and approve mechanical drawings for accuracy, robustness, and adherence to specs
• Co-develop with QE all inspection criteria, gage requirements, and control documentation
• Support problem solving activities (7Step, Error-Proofing, Histogram, Fishbone, 5 Why)
• Lead and support continuous improvement programs and employee involvement work teams
• Participate in CI programs and cost savings initiatives such as VA/VE, MCM, other
• Maintain and promote a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Develop module assembly PFMEAs, Operator Instructions, Control Plans, & Process Flow Charts
• Support quality functions as necessary
Education and Qualifications
• 3+ years controls engineering experience
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience
• Experience with RSLogix 5000, RSLinx (required)
• Experience with fastener torque systems (preferred)
• Technical proficiency in manufacturing and assembly processes and deployment of best practices
• Experience with lift assists and pneumatic devices (valve, cylinders)
• Experience with barcode scanners and RFID reader systems
• Experience with safety equipment (safety mats light curtain e-stop circuits)
• Proficiency developing PFMEAs, Operator Instructions, Control Plans, and Process Flow Charts
• Working knowledge of gage & layout procedures
• Demonstrated leadership, team building, problem solving and decision making skills
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project), ACAD, VisView.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multi-task effectively
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Able to support extended hours (including weekends), multiple shifts, and minimal travel as required
