Job description

Position Summary

2ND SHIFT (6PM-2:40AM)
Work on paint manufacturing process. Develop engineering trials to ensure materials effectively meet industry standards and manufacturing processes.
Determine material processes best suited for correct manufacturing equipment.

Role and Responsibilities

  • 2ND SHIFT (6PM-2:40AM)

  • Maintaining operational readiness of all Paint equipment, supply management, process improvement and effectiveness of Paint Process.

  • Standardization of paint process.

  • Collaborates with Production Leaders, Purchasing/Materials Logistics and Maintenance Leaders on efficiency, product supply and demand, and efficient delivery. Inspect and evaluate paint process.

  • Research automation techniques, evaluate quality control processes, and plan factory layouts to optimize production.

  • Manage document control procedures and develop annual capital equipment budgets pertaining the paint process

  • Establish high quality results with the coating system and ideal process specifications for manufacturing (Use and validation).

  • Understand physical property and process standards of all coating systems.

  • Manage the processes at the plant introduction and manufacturability.

  • Lead the interface for paint validation/development (Specifications, Durability and Development).

Skills and Qualifications

Education: Required: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or manufacturing engineering
Experience: 3- 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate engineering, controls engineering, and experience in paint process areas including pretreatment and electrocoat, paint sealer and topcoat process in manufacturing (automotive or product manufacturing)
Knowledge: Operation and maintenance of paint process equipment
Skills: Six Sigma, Statistics tools, such as Pareto charts, control charts, fishbone diagram, Film thickness meter, wave scan, datapaq, spectrophotometer, Ph mete, minitab
Physical requirement: Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 35 lbs.
