Job Summary
The Property Operations Specialist supports Asset Management and onsite teams by owning property-level financial execution and portfolio operational reporting. This role ensures accurate data, disciplined processes, and consistent execution across assigned properties.
This position combines hands-on financial operations with performance monitoring and operational support, serving as a key bridge between Corporate, Asset Management, and property teams. The Property Operations Specialist plays a direct role in strengthening operational consistency, financial accuracy, and overall portfolio performance.
Key Responsibilities
Financial & Property Operations
  • Support AP/AR workflows, including invoice review, deposits, ledger corrections, utilities processing, write-offs, and maintaining resident account accuracy.
  • Assist with delinquency tracking, renewals, and eviction coordination in partnership with onsite teams.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records within Yardi and related property management systems.
Portfolio Reporting & Asset Support
  • Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly operational and financial reports.
  • Support financial reviews, including variance analysis, accruals, and reclasses.
  • Monitor property performance metrics and identify trends or inconsistencies.
  • Assist with acquisitions, onboarding processes, and ad hoc reporting requests.

Operational Monitoring
  • Ensure reporting consistency and adherence to company standards across assigned properties.
  • Identify process gaps and recommend practical improvements.
  • Conduct periodic site visits to validate reporting accuracy and operational alignment.
  • Maintain documentation, reporting templates, and scalable workflows to support portfolio growth.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Strong analytical, financial, and operational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of Word and Outlook.
  • Experience with property management systems (Yardi preferred).
  • Working knowledge of AP/AR processes and basic financial reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Business Analytics, or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in property operations, asset management support, accounting, or financial reporting strongly preferred.
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial and operational information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel periodically.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Position Type & Expected Hours
  • Full-time position, Monday through Friday (40 hours per week).
  • Flexibility for occasional day or overnight travel within the Southeastern U.S. is required.
