We are looking for a Propane Tank Painter and Refurbishment Technician with a focus on safety for our West Columbia location. The Propane Tank Painter and Refurbishment Technician is responsible for cleaning, repairing, painting, and refurbishing propane tanks. This position helps keep company tanks safe, in good working condition, and looking professional. Safety, quality work, and attention to detail are important in this role.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning propane tanks using pressure washers and other approved equipment.
  • Remove rust, old paint, and dirt by sanding, grinding, or other approved methods.
  • Prepare tanks for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer when needed.
  • Paint propane tanks using company-approved materials and methods.
  • Apply company decals and safety labels.
  • Inspect tanks for damage or excessive corrosion and report any issues.
  • Assist with removing and installing tank valves when needed.
  • Safely move tanks using forklifts or other approved equipment.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
  • Follow all company safety policies and always wear required PPE.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Stand, bend, kneel, twist, and stand for entirety of shift.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Handle paints, tools, and propane equipment safely.
  • Wear required safety equipment, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and respirators when required.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Mechanical ability and willingness to learn.
  • Painting or equipment repair experience is helpful but not required.
  • Forklift experience is a plus but not required.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Availability to work full-time hours.
