Small Equipment Operator - Propane Tank Installation
Join Our Team at Kimlin Energy!
We're seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Small Equipment Operator to join our growing team. In this role, you'll play a key part in safely installing underground propane tanks and gas lines for residential customers. If you have a keen eye for spotting potential hazards and experience operating excavators, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
  • Locate underground utilities, including gas lines, septics, water lines, and other unmarked infrastructure, using diligence, educated guesswork, and a light touch to minimize risks.
  • Collaborate with sales teams and customers to determine optimal tank placement.
  • Excavate sites for underground lines and propane tanks, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
  • Operate small equipment and transport it using our trucks (CDL A required for truck operationno current CDL needed, but must be eligible to obtain one).
  • Complete jobs efficiently: Most installations take less than a day, with potential for 2-3 per day if sites are nearby.
Requirements:
  • Experience operating excavators or similar small equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety mindset, especially with unmarked utilities.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions on-site.
  • Physical fitness for outdoor labor in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license; must be able to obtain CDL A.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background in landscaping, general labor, or construction with hands-on excavator experience.
  • No prior propane knowledge requiredwe provide full training!
