As of Jun 23, 2026, the average yearly pay for prop firm in the United States is $78,472.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $58,500.00 and $98,000.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

High-paying jobs that can reach $2,000 a day often include roles such as experienced traders, specialized consultants, or freelance professionals in fields like software development, law, or medicine. These positions typically require advanced skills, certifications, or significant experience, and may involve freelance or contract work with flexible schedules.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Proprietary Trader at a prop firm, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Proprietary Trader at a prop firm, you need strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of financial markets, and often a degree in finance, economics, or a related field. Proficiency with trading platforms, charting software, and risk management systems is typically required, along with relevant certifications like FINRA Series 7 in some jurisdictions. Outstanding decision-making, discipline, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are crucial soft skills for success in this role. These capabilities are vital as they enable traders to manage risk, capitalize on market opportunities, and maintain consistent profitability in a highly competitive environment.

What jobs pay $10,000 a month without a degree?

Prop trading firms often pay traders based on performance, with successful traders earning $10,000 or more monthly without requiring a degree. Other high-paying roles without degrees include sales, real estate, and certain tech roles like web development or digital marketing, which rely on skills and experience rather than formal education.

What are some common challenges traders face when working at a proprietary trading firm?

Traders at prop firms often encounter challenges such as maintaining consistent profitability under pressure, adapting to rapidly changing market conditions, and managing risk within the firm's parameters. Collaboration with other traders and risk managers is key, as sharing strategies and market insights can improve performance, but competition among peers may also be intense. Additionally, traders must continually learn and adapt to new trading tools and technologies to stay competitive within the firm.

How much can you make at a prop firm?

Prop traders at proprietary trading firms can earn from a few thousand dollars per month to six-figure annual incomes, depending on their trading skill, capital allocated, and performance. Compensation often includes a base salary, profit sharing, or a combination, with successful traders earning significantly more as they demonstrate consistent profitability and risk management skills.

What are prop firms?

Prop firms, short for proprietary trading firms, are companies that use their own capital to trade financial instruments like stocks, currencies, or futures. Rather than managing client funds, they hire or fund traders to execute trades on behalf of the firm. Profits are shared between the trader and the firm, often based on performance. Many prop firms offer training, mentorship, and access to advanced trading platforms. They provide an opportunity for skilled traders to trade larger amounts of capital than they might personally have available.

How to get hired by a prop firm?

To get hired by a prop firm, candidates typically need to demonstrate strong trading skills, risk management, and a proven track record, often through a trading assessment or evaluation phase. Relevant knowledge of trading platforms and the ability to adhere to firm-specific rules are also important for consideration.

1. Application screening
We carefully review all applications to identify candidates whose research experience, analytical thinking, and familiarity with financial markets best match the role's performance objectives, while ensuring a timely and transparent update on your application.
2. Video Self-Introduction
A short asynchronous video where you introduce yourself, share your background, and briefly explain your experience with financial markets, research, or the prop trading industry. This helps us understand your communication style, professional motivation, and fit for remote, ownership-driven work.
3. Discovery Interview with HR Team
Shortlisted candidates will join a conversation with Lilit Y., our HR Generalist, focused on your professional background, research experience, analytical approach, and alignment with Prop Firm Match Global FZCO's culture and values, while also giving you a clear overview of the company, role expectations, and the opportunity to share your goals and ask questions.

This gives you insight into the type of research work you would perform while allowing us to evaluate your analytical thinking, structure, and attention to detail, followed by structured feedback on your submission.
5. Interview with Hiring Manager
At this stage, you will join a conversation with Abdulazeez A., our Lead of Research, the hiring manager focused on your research methodology, futures market expertise, and ability to analyze proprietary trading firms, while also giving you visibility into how research supports our platform, content, and strategic initiatives in a collaborative, two-way exchange.
