Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Category Promotion & Coupon Planning leads the development and execution of category-level promotional and discount strategies across both mass and personalized offers. This role is responsible for driving customer engagement, incremental sales, and margin performance through data-driven insights, market intelligence, and cross-functional collaboration.

You will shape promotional strategy, influence go-to-market decisions, and continuously optimize performance in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute category-specific promotional and discount strategies aligned with enterprise and category objectives
  • Drive customer engagement, incremental revenue, and margin through data-driven optimization of promotional programs
  • Manage and track performance against annual financial targets, adjusting strategies based on results and category role
  • Analyze performance trends and translate insights into actionable recommendations that improve strategy and execution
  • Influence cross-functional stakeholders to evolve existing programs using fact-based analysis and market insights
  • Identify opportunities and navigate ambiguity in a dynamic, rapidly changing business environment
  • Create and deliver executive-level presentations and performance recaps to inform strategic decisions
  • Collaborate with external vendors and partners to enhance promotional capabilities and drive mutual value
  • Partner with Category, Marketing, Analytics, and Operations teams to align promotional initiatives with broader business goals
  • Support quality and performance improvement efforts, including audits and issue resolution tied to customer experience

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in promotions, category planning, pricing, loyalty, merchandising, marketing, or related fields
  • Proven experience designing and optimizing promotional strategies that drive sales, margin, and customer engagement
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into clear insights and business actions
  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders through data-driven insights
  • Experience managing financial performance and budget targets
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and data/analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Snowflake)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in retail, loyalty, or consumer-facing environments
  • Experience managing external vendors or strategic partnerships
  • Proven ability to work effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments
