Job Summary/Description:
KSWO is in search of an individual to fill the highly detail-oriented position of Promotions Manager. Responsibilities will include assisting the Marketing Director with station promotion, managing promotion and PSA spot inventory, and shooting and editing promotional content. 2+ years of station marketing/creative services experience (broadcast + digital), with heavy topical/image work, is required.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Coordinating station marketing activities such as photo ops or talent shoots with the Marketing Director and News department
• Creating promotional campaigns in a timely manner
• Managing station promotional initiatives
• Producing topical and proof-of-performance promotions
• Film talent in studio, newsroom, and outdoor environments for promotional content
• Designing & setting up event booths and presentations
• Be a presence for the station at local events in the community
• Managing PSA inventory for KSWO, MeTV, and Telemundo
• Keeping hallway monitors current with monthly messages and photos/videos from station events
• Promo fill station logs when the Marketing Director is unavailable
• Other related duties as assigned by the Marketing Director
Qualifications/Requirements:
• 2+ years station marketing/creative services experience (broadcast + digital), with heavy topical/image work.
• Proven ability to own campaign strategy + execution without direct reports: align stakeholders, run timelines, and drive deliverables to air/on-platform.
• Strong promo writing/producing skills (teases, topical, image, special projects); sharp ear for brand voice and urgency.
• Deep understanding of newsroom + programming rhythms (breaking news pivots, sweeps, franchise promos) and how to prioritize fast.
• Solid workflow/traffic literacy: versioning, tagging, specs, closed captioning, approvals, deliverables across on-air/CTV/social.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud and production process (shoot/edit/finish) to give precise notes and QC.
• Excellent cross-functional communication (news director, EPs, sales/brand, digital) and confident presenting recaps/plans.
