Job description

RRC is seeking a talented SCADA Project Manager to help us build the future of both U.S. and Canada energy production from both remote work locations and any one of our U.S. or Canadian office locations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide SCADA engineering expertise and project execution on wind, battery, solar and PV + Storage power systems.
  • Coordinate with EPC/Owner SCADA engineering design, development, implementation, and commissioning phases of each project. 
  • Work with EPC clients/Owner to deliver procurement and deployment plans, timelines, and costs. 
  • Work with and manage clients to ensure requirements/scope and expectations are clear. 
  • Manage the project schedule and budget closely. 
  • Maintain detailed project schedule for all SCADA related tasks and drive the internal and external parties to meet the schedule. 
  • Schedule and run the recurring project meetings internally and with clients wth appropriate agenda.  
  • Be mindful of possible scope creeps/gaps and update the budget and scope with client as needed.  
  • Manage IT consultants and subcontractors for network security deliverables, testing, budgets, and system completion. 
  • Coordinate project site TELCO installation, scheduling and manage schedules and owner’s expectation. 
  • Deploy SCADA solutions and submittal according to timelines and budget.  
  • Coordinate with substation subcontractor on substation devices, communication hardware using standard SCADA protocols. 
  • Work closely with the client’s team, as well as RRC SCADA team, and project engineer to warranty a quality system is installed and tested to design specifications. 
  • Ensure that SCADA systems have been installed per project requirements and tested to meet QSE,CAISO, Utility, and regional reliability council requirements. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

  • BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Science Engineering 
  • Minimum 5 or more years of proven utility or industrial SCADA project management experience. 
  • Ability to communicate complex SCADA and controls concepts to non-domain experts in a collaborative fashion. 
  • Must have working knowledge of the renewable energy industry and projects. 
  • Familiarity with and able to stay current on SCADA regulations and standards.
  • Extensive management experience on SCADA projects and well-versed in SCADA integration life cycles 
  • Demonstrated experience in SCADA design and execution in the power and renewable energy sectors.
  • Working experience with SCADA software programming, SCADA historians, MS SQL servers (a plus) 
  • Working experience with Wonderware or Inductive Automation Ignition 7.x or 8.x software (a plus) 
  • Experience with communication protocols for base-level devices: Modbus, Modbus TCP, OPC, DNP3, SELFast, IEC 61850, ICCP… etc 
  • Working experience with automation control systems: RTAC programming, Rockwell PLC and Control Logix programming (a plus) 
  • Experience with BESS EMS system (a plus) 
  • Experience with Power Utility scale SCADA system development and design 
  • Travel 10%
