About this Role - EPC Project Manager
We are looking for a talented EPC Project Manager that has a passion for quality construction. This position is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of EPC projects, providing project management support, engineering oversight, and technical consultation throughout the project lifecycle. This role requires effective coordination with engineering service partners, management of equipment procurement, and facilitation of construction planning to meet mobilization and construction milestones. The ideal candidate will proactively ensure due diligence on EPC proposals/projects, clarify the scope of work, and collaborate with Risk Management, Operations, and Estimating teams to align all project details. Travel may be required, and the candidate must adeptly manage multiple project portfolios while monitoring proposal progress and addressing active EPC project needs.
What You'll Do
Project Scope Management
- Understand project scopes and communicate requirements associated with risks to ensure compliance with contractual terms.
- Focus on meeting client expectations and deliverables.
RFP and Scope Documentation
- Define and document Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and scope of work packages for third-party EPC firms.
- Lead the selection process for engineering partners and negotiate engineering scope of work contracts.
Technical Review and Coordination
- Review technical and regulatory information (drawings, schematics, estimates) provided by Owners, Clients, and Engineering firms.
- Collaborate with the Estimating Team and Operations to conduct constructability reviews and project pricing.
Collaboration with Design Engineers
- Work closely with third-party design engineers and customers to ensure efficient coordination and adherence to contracting requirements, budgets, forecasts, and schedules.
- Remove engineering and procurement barriers to facilitate construction progress.
Project Planning and Scheduling
- Collaborate with Owners/Clients on project planning and scheduling.
- Assess project issues and identify solutions to ensure timely and budget-compliant project delivery.
Performance Evaluation
- Regularly appraise project progress against established goals and timelines.
- Assist in developing and tracking key project performance metrics.
Quality Control/Monitoring
- Conduct site visits as needed and coordinate with independent engineering firms.
- Facilitate discussions with detailed project plans and high-level status dashboards to track progress against milestones.
- Continuously monitor ongoing projects to ensure compliance with established specifications and tolerances.
Financial Management
- Oversee job costing processes with the construction PM to ensure accurate tracking of project expenses and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with project team to develop and maintain project budgets, ensuring alignment with overall company financial goals.
Communication with Senior Management
- Keep MJE Senior Management informed about project progress, business opportunities, and industry trends.
Consultation and Technical Expertise
- Provide consultation to Utilities, Clients, and Owners regarding design requirements and job specifications while acting as the technical expertise for design solutions.

- Trade(s) Licensure: Electrical industry license (e.g., Master Electrician) or equivalent experience.
- Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.
- Professional Engineering License: Preferred but not required.
