Position Description
Join a third-generation, family-owned commercial construction company with over 70 years of excellence and a strong commitment to community. We're seeking an adaptable, driven Assistant Project Manager who thrives in a team-oriented, professional environment.
General Responsibilities:
Support Senior Project Managers in planning, directing, and delivering construction projects. Assist with forecasting, reporting, documentation, and communication across teams. Help maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development efforts. May manage smaller projects under supervision.
Essential Duties:
  • Support project planning, scheduling, and execution to meet owner and company goals.
  • Assist with forecasting, reporting, and maintaining accurate project records.
  • Utilize effective processes, technology, and teamwork to ensure project efficiency.
  • Manage small projects as assigned, with oversight.
  • Build and support client relationships and identify future business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to achieve project and company objectives.
  • Provide mentoring support to field and project staff as appropriate.
  • Participate in industry events and represent the company professionally.
  • Follow all company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
  • Developing planning, forecasting, and leadership abilities
  • Basic understanding of construction project management
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Proficient computer skills and ability to learn project management software

  • Valid driver's license

Education / Experience:
  • A B.S. or B.A. degree in a related field of study preferred;
  • Specific training and education focused on the construction project management discipline.
  • A minimum of 1 to 3 years' experience as a Project Engineer with M-K or a commercial general contracts construction company preferred.
