Position Overview:

The Construction Project Engineer will provide technical support and engineering expertise throughout the lifecycle of construction projects. This role involves working closely with project managers, construction teams, and trade partners to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support: Provide engineering expertise and support to ensure technical aspects of the project are executed effectively. Address engineering challenges and provide solutions.
  • Project Planning: Assist in the development of project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget. Contribute to project design and planning meetings.
  • Documentation Management: Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports. Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and accessible.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with engineering standards, building codes, and safety regulations. Conduct site inspections and quality control checks.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and trade partners to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the project.
  • Cost Management: Assist in estimating costs, reviewing and approving invoices, and managing project budgets. Identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate financial risks.
  • Schedule Management: Track project progress and ensure that work is completed according to the established schedule. Address any delays or issues that may impact project timelines.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve engineering and construction-related problems. Develop and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Safety Compliance: Promote and enforce safety standards on site. Ensure all activities comply with safety regulations and best practices.
Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience in construction engineering or a related role, with a proven track record of supporting successful construction projects.
