About the Position

The company is seeking a driven and results-oriented Outside Sales Representative to join its Northeast Regional team. This individual will play a key role in developing and managing customer relationships across New York, New Jersey, and Eastern Pennsylvania.

Reporting directly to the Regional Manager, the Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for generating profitable revenue through both sales and rental channels, while delivering exceptional customer service. The role involves a mix of account management, business development, and field engagementworking closely with contractors, distributors, and architectural/engineering/design firms to drive product specification and adoption.

This is a highly visible, field-based role requiring regular travel throughout the territory, in-person client engagement, and close coordination with internal teams including Inside Sales, Customer Service, Dispatch, Service, and Logistics.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing new business through prospecting, cold calling, and relationship building
  • Managing and growing existing customer and distributor accounts
  • Acting as a liaison between customers, distributors, and internal teams
  • Supporting project tracking, inventory management, and product lifecycle awareness
  • Preparing quotes, negotiating pricing, and closing sales
  • Monitoring market trends, supply conditions, and customer demand
  • Providing technical product guidance and support to clients and partners
  • Researching and tracking project opportunities and bid activity
  • Maintaining accurate sales records, pipeline reporting, and forecasting
  • Attending regional conferences, seminars, and industry events

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum 3 years of sales experience with demonstrated success
  • At least 3 years of experience in the construction industry (commercial, vertical, or highway/traffic safety)
  • Minimum 3 years of equipment rental experience, preferably with safety-related products

Technical & Industry Knowledge

  • Experience in traffic safety products and familiarity with MUTCD standards strongly preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret civil/site plans, maintenance of traffic plans, and construction schedules is a plus
  • Understanding of project lifecycles, bidding processes, and construction timelines

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong sales acumen including prospecting, negotiation, and closing
  • Excellent planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
