Managing Director
Metro Detroit, MI
Direct Hire
Responsibilities:
  • Generate/originate approximately 3 million dollars of Net Revenue in the first full year and approximately 5 million dollars of Net Revenue in subsequent years across the AMBE suite of capabilities.
  • Healthy revenue mix by project Origination type: Consulting Services and Staffing Services.
  • Maintain Contribution Profit Margin (as calculated by AMBE's Management).
  • Collaborate with AMBE colleagues to identify channels to cross-sell the entire suite of capabilities and services.
  • Provide necessary leadership including on-site and off-site consultative support throughout the projects' life cycle, including discovery, development of a statement of work, monitoring and control, communication oversight, and client management.
  • Ensure positive customer feedback (90% positive feedback based on AMBE internal project assessment systems and tools) for projects principally originated by you.
  • Proactively leverage project "wins" to maximize revenue per project by a) extending 40% of projects from initial phases to subsequent phases or ancillary opportunities with Customer(s), and (b) ensuring recurring revenue streams (i.e., new project awards leveraging prior project successes and relationships) with 50% of new Customers originated by you.
  • Ensure up-to-date accuracy and transparency of the sales pipeline and progress using AMBE's collaborative CRM environment and team meetings.
  • Utilize network to identify and assist in the acquisition of talent with necessary subject matter expertise to ensure successful execution of projects per both (a) the Scope of Work and (b) ensure AMBE's brand and reputation.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Identify potential new lines of business and platform leadership position(s) through innovative products, services, business models, and partnerships.
  • Support corporate "bench strength" development through the identification of strategic talent at all layers of the organization. Mentor Director or related resources to help cultivate future Managing Director pipeline.
  • Identify potential strategic alliances, joint ventures or direct investments that could expand AMBE's service offerings and enhance the enterprise value of the organization.

Requirements
To achieve success in this high-energy, rapidly growing, and entrepreneurial environment, the Managing Director will need a broad array of technical, leadership, business development and operational skills. Ideal candidates will possess:
  • Prior experience in both professional services/consulting and corporate business/manufacturing operations.
  • 10+ years of background in management consulting or operational/advisory to leverage prior experiences.
  • Professional experience in an operational or manufacturing setting (i.e., Plant Management, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Production, etc.).
  • Prior business development experience identifying new opportunities, building relationships, and solidifying the business award.
  • Ability to leverage prior professional experiences to develop current and prospective clients.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Enthusiastic with an entrepreneurial spirit that envelopes ideation, build-out, and possible ownership.
  • A credible executive presence that fits well with an extensive and relevant network of substantive relationships with high business growth potential.
  • Develops opportunities with a business owner and commercial mindset that considers both short and 'over the horizon' viewpoints with associated near-term returns and costs.
  • Demonstrated project management experience - demand, talent, and project planning, engagement and consulting execution and management, issue/risk management, and resource management.
