About the role
The Operations Supervisor is responsible for the safe, environmentally sound and efficient daily operation of the facility. This position reports to the Operations Manager. Successful applicant will organize and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the operations personnel; establish priorities for work and projects; assist in the planning and scheduling of outages and provide technical guidance as needed. This position is also responsible for supervising and training Shift Supervisors and ensuring the availability of qualified plant personnel to handle daily operational needs, and the facility's readiness to meet emergency or unusual circumstances in a safe, productive manner.
Position Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Tour all areas of the plant and oversee the safety of all activities of the assigned operating staff and contractors.
  • During emergency or unusual situations, shall direct or if necessary, personally perform the required operations or corrective actions as well as coordinating the activities of all personnel involved.
  • Provide relief for the Shift Supervisors during short term absence as required, inclusive of vacation coverage as needed. When in relief for Shift Supervisor, the Operations Supervisor (OS) will review, prioritize, and direct the daily work activities for the shift.
  • Oversight and updating of the Training program, SOP's, and operator logs.
  • Ensure prioritization and completion of the CMMS Preventative maintenance system work orders and assignments.
  • Conduct daily meetings with shift supervisors.
  • Coordinating day to day activities and directly supervising the day shift operations employees. This includes appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employee performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Responsible for the receipt of waste and day to day activities in the tipping floor area of the facility.
  • Responsible for the water analysis of the facility.
  • Coordinate and supervisor Contractors and vendors, when necessary
  • Serve as emergency coordinator in the absence of the Facility/Department Managers.
  • Stand in for the Operations Manager in his/her absence.

Position Requirements & Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years' experience in power or resource recovery plant operations, including hands-on and/or supervisory experience with high pressure boilers and electric generation equipment.
  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
  • ASME QRO Site Specific Operator Certification (License). required; must be able to become certified within 6 months of hire.

Physical Demands of the Role:
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb
  • Ability to lift/carry 50lbs
  • Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
  • Qualify to wear a full-face respirator.
  • Consistently work in various weather conditions

Shift:
  • Monday through Friday days, and periodic weekends.
  • Off-hours work supporting Plant and shifts needs is required.

Pay Transparency
Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and we strive to provide competitive compensation and benefits packages. The range below reflects Reworld's reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable). Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future.
The pay range for the primary location of this position is: $118,700.00 - $169,800.00 USD. For hourly roles, this is the annualized salary. To calculate the hourly rate, divide by 2080.
