Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Accountant to join a growing finance team within a dynamic, project-based professional services environment. This role will be responsible for supporting the financial administration of a large portfolio of active projects, including project setup, billing, revenue tracking, financial reporting, and project analysis.

This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities, and partnering with project teams to ensure financial accuracy and operational success.

Salary: $70,000 - $80,000

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day accounting and financial administration of assigned projects.
  • Prepare and review client invoices in accordance with contractual terms, company procedures, and project requirements.
  • Monitor project financial performance, including budgets, costs, revenue recognition, and profitability.
  • Track and maintain project setups within the organization's ERP/project management system.
  • Review project-related transactions to ensure accurate coding and financial reporting.
  • Support accounts receivable activities, including monitoring aging reports and assisting with collections as required.
  • Prepare project financial reports and analyses for management and project leaders.
  • Assist with month-end close activities, reconciliations, and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers and operational teams to support project delivery and financial objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and contractual obligations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects and financial analysis as required.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of project accounting experience.
  • Experience in engineering consulting, construction, architecture, professional services, or similar industries is considered an asset.
  • Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint, Deltek Vision, or similar ERP/project accounting systems is an asset.
  • Pursuit of a CPA designation is considered an asset but is not required.
