Job Title: Assistant Project Manager

Job description:
The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and clients to help coordinate and manage wastewater construction projects. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional looking to build a career in municipal and utility construction management.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers with the planning, coordination, and execution of wastewater construction projects.
- Review project plans, specifications, contracts, and bid documents.
- Prepare and track submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project correspondence.
- Coordinate material procurement, equipment rentals, and subcontractor scheduling.
- Monitor project schedules and help identify potential delays or issues.
- Ensure all subcontract agreements, purchase orders, and related contract documents are fully executed prior to the commencement of work.
- Attend project meetings and prepare meeting minutes and action items.
- Support monthly billing, payment applications, and project reporting.
- Maintain organized project files and documentation.
- Assist with permit applications, regulatory compliance, and safety documentation.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and coordinate with field personnel.
- Foster positive relationships with clients, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Qualifications
Required
- 1โ5 years of experience in construction, engineering, project coordination, or related fields.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites.
Preferred
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with wastewater, utility, civil, or municipal construction projects.
- Familiarity with construction management software such as Procore, Viewpoint, HCSS, or similar platforms.
- Understanding of public works projects and municipal contracting requirements.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
