Job Description:

The client is a leading firm in the mechanical contracting industry that is known for delivering outstanding results. They are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager who can drive HVAC, plumbing, and process system projects from concept through completion. This role requires a professional who can SELL, ESTIMATE, and manage their own projects. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing client relationships, overseeing project execution, coordinating field labor, and ensuring financial success across a diverse portfolio of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for both the client and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage all phases of projects including estimating, proposal development, contract execution, procurement, and closeout.
  • Develop project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls to ensure profitability.
  • Maintain full ownership of job financials including billing, cost tracking, and forecasting.
  • Prepare and manage contracts, change orders, proposals, and project documentation.
  • Develop and maintain a strong client base within HVAC/mechanical markets.
  • Lead client meetings and support contract negotiations to close new business.
  • Identify and pursue new project opportunities.
  • Coordinate field labor requirements and installation sequencing with field leadership.
  • Lead project kickoff meetings and ensure alignment across departments.
  • Partner with engineering, purchasing, accounting, construction, and service teams to execute projects efficiently.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide consistent project updates and ensure clear communication across all parties.
  • Attend internal project, sales, and construction meetings.

Qualifications:

  • A background/Degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Experience working with a mechanical contractor or as a mechanical engineer.
  • Ability to sell, estimate, and project manage on their own.
  • 5+ years of experience in estimating, design, and/or management of HVAC projects ranging from $50,000 to $25+ million.
