Job description

Gleason Construction, Inc. is a family owned and operated general contractor based in Devils Lake, North Dakota. We specialize in commercial construction projects of all sizes within multiple sectors throughout North Dakota. Our focus is on quality craftsmanship, high-integrity, customer satisfaction, and completing projects on time and within budget. Position includes yearly bonuses based on performance, retirement match, vehicle and paid-time-off.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Construction Project Manager in Devils Lake, ND. This position will oversee Gleason Construction’s general contracting and construction management projects. The Project Manager will be responsible to:

  • Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout.
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and overall project strategies.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, field personnel, architects, engineers, and owners.
  • Review plans and specifications to identify scope requirements, conflicts, and potential risks.
  • Assist with estimating, subcontractor solicitation, bid review, and project buyout.
  • Prepare and administer subcontracts, purchase orders, and material procurement.
  • Track project costs, commitments, forecasts, and profitability throughout construction.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, meeting minutes, and other project documentation.
  • Lead owner, architect, and subcontractor coordination meetings.
  • Work closely with the superintendent and field operations team to maintain project schedules.
  • Help resolve design issues, field conflicts, and unforeseen construction conditions.
  • Conduct regular site visits to review progress, quality, safety, and coordination.
  • Maintain accurate project records and provide regular status reports to company leadership.
  • Coordinate inspections, punch-list completion, owner training, warranties, and project closeout.
  • Represent Gleason Construction professionally while supporting the company’s commitment to integrity, quality, and dependable project delivery.

  • 5+ year experience preferred of commercial project management experience; prior project management role preferred.

  • Self-starter with excellent communication, leadership, and organization
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Xcel, Microsoft 365 products, project management software, and Bluebeam.
  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors across multiple sites.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Comfortable in both hands-on oversight, as well as reporting and coordinating with project leadership.
