Position Summary

We are seeking a Project Engineerto support the planning, coordination, and execution of projects from pre-construction through closeout.


This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organization, problem-solving, and working across both office and field teams, with a clear path toward Project Manager growth.


You'll work closely with a Project Manager and field teams to ensure projects are well-coordinated, properly documented, and executed efficiently.


This is a full-time role based in Bozeman, with travel to project sites across Montana.


Key Responsibilities

Pre-Construction

  • Assist with estimating, takeoffs, and proposal development
  • Issue RFPs to subcontractors and vendors; collect and analyze bids
  • Support subcontractor buyout, scope development, and bid leveling
  • Help develop project budgets, scope checklists, and procurement logs

Project Management Support

  • Manage project documentation in Procore (RFIs, submittals, drawings, ASIs)
  • Assist with subcontract agreement preparation and execution
  • Track change orders, budgets, and job cost reports
  • Review and code invoices prior to PM approval
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date project files

Scheduling & Coordination

  • Assist with development and maintenance of project schedules
  • Coordinate with field teams to ensure alignment on schedule and scope
  • Provide timely communication between office, field, and design teams

Communication & Reporting

  • Prepare meeting agendas, take OAC meeting notes, and distribute updates
  • Draft weekly project updates for clients and stakeholders
  • Maintain "Lessons Learned" log to improve future project performance

Project Closeout

  • Coordinate subcontractor and vendor closeout requirements
  • Assemble owner's manuals, warranties, and project documentation
  • Collect and organize as-built drawings for all applicable trades
