Purpose of the Role
Provide technical leadership for server infrastructure, setting direction for maintenance, standards, lifecycle management, design, and implementation across server administration, network engineering, security, and databases. Develops and executes high-impact IT solutions using advanced technologies, evaluating long-term effectiveness, cost, feasibility, and technical constraints in coordination with Headquarters. Leads design and implementation of infrastructure solutions, performs complex technical work, and supports performance testing, integration, problem analysis, and business/technical evaluation.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Strategy
  • Provide direction for infrastructure (servers, network, security, databases) including standards, lifecycle, and architecture.
  • Evaluate, design, and implement high-impact IT solutions aligned with long-term effectiveness, cost, and technical feasibility.
  • Lead and mentor a cross-functional technical team (server, network, DB, security engineers).

Server & Infrastructure Management
  • Administer and maintain Windows, Linux, and M365/Exchange environments.
  • Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, file/print services, and system configurations.
  • Oversee storage (SAN/NAS), virtualization, and cloud-integrated infrastructure.
Monitoring, Performance & Support
  • Monitor system health, performance, and availability; resolve complex issues.
  • Manage enterprise monitoring, alerting, and ITSM ticketing processes.
  • Support helpdesk and escalation activities; ensure reliable service delivery.
Networking & Security
  • Support network infrastructure operations and performance.
  • Implement cybersecurity controls, patching, and system hardening.
  • Lead security compliance efforts, audits, and risk mitigation initiatives.
Data Protection & Continuity
  • Manage backups and recovery for servers and databases (SQL, Exchange).
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Automation & Optimization
  • Develop scripts (e.g., PowerShell) and automate administrative processes.
  • Optimize system performance, capacity, and resource utilization.
Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement
  • Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
  • Research, test, and implement new technologies and solutions.
Asset, Documentation & Vendor Management
  • Maintain infrastructure inventory, lifecycle data, and documentation.
  • Manage vendors, procurement, and service agreements.
  • Ensure adherence to change management processes.
Project & Stakeholder Management
  • Lead and manage infrastructure projects from initiation to completion.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, customers, and headquarters.
  • Conduct project meetings and ensure timely delivery of outcomes.

Essential Functions:
Leads IT infrastructure operations with a focus on Windows server environments, networking, and cybersecurity. Oversees day-to-day operations, system performance, and security while driving technical direction, team leadership, and project delivery to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure enterprise systems.
  • Lead and mentor a team of server, network, database, and security engineers.
  • Administer and maintain Windows Server environments (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, M365/Exchange, file/print).
  • Oversee Linux server operations and cross-platform integration.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and availability; resolve complex issues.
  • Manage SAN/NAS storage, virtualization platforms, and cloud integrations.
  • Implement and maintain enterprise monitoring, alerting, and system management tools.
Networking & Systems Performance
  • Oversee network infrastructure operations, performance, and reliability.
  • Support network engineering efforts, ensuring secure and efficient connectivity.
  • Conduct capacity planning, performance tuning, and infrastructure scaling.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
  • Enforce security controls, access management, and system hardening.
  • Lead vulnerability management, patching, and threat mitigation efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards, audits, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strengthen backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.

Must-Have Skills
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience administering Windows, Linux/Unix servers, VMware, networking, storage (SAN/NAS), Exchange, Active Directory, and M365.
  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, compliance, and security auditing.
  • Strong expertise in server infrastructure, system performance, troubleshooting, and enterprise IT operations.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective technical solutions.
  • Experience managing and delivering projects on time with strong organizational and coordination skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and support internal/external stakeholders.

Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or industrial IT environments.
  • Relevant certifications (MCSE, Microsoft Exchange, Network+, A+).
  • Experience with automation/scripting (e.g., PowerShell) and advanced infrastructure optimization.
Salary range: $98,000 - $136,000 + car allowance
