Job description

Project Manager - Restoration & Construction
Location: Newark, DE
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Overview
Our Client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee restoration and construction projects from initiation through completion. This role is ideal for a motivated professional with expertise in managing complex projects, coordinating multiple stakeholders, and ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. Project Managers may support residential, commercial, industrial, and catastrophe (CAT) response projects and may travel periodically to assist with large-loss events and regional disaster recovery efforts.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a strong understanding of all service lines offered by Our Client.
  • Manage restoration and/or construction projects while maintaining project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate field operations, subcontractors, vendors, and project personnel throughout all phases of the project.
  • Demonstrate strong project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, documentation, customer communication, change order management, and quality assurance.
  • Stay current on industry standards, construction methods, restoration techniques, and applicable regulations.
  • Review daily project activities, document progress, and communicate updates, concerns, and milestones to leadership.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation including daily reports, photo logs, sketches, graphs, and records required by clients or third-party administrators.
  • Perform or oversee work related to fire, water, and reconstruction services as needed based on prior field experience.
  • Assist with qualifying vendors and subcontractors while ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Successfully manage both fixed-price and time-and-material projects.
  • Ensure accurate project billing by providing complete documentation for invoicing.
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintain company vehicles in safe operating condition.
  • Maintain exceptional attention to detail while protecting customer property throughout every phase of the project.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service while maintaining professional communication with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Work efficiently under tight deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Participate in periodic travel, after-hours work, weekends, and CAT deployment when business needs require.
  • Accurately document labor hours, equipment usage, and materials consumed.
  • Attend all required company operations, safety, and professional development training.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Assist fellow Project Managers and Senior Project Managers while supporting catastrophe response efforts as needed.
  • Continue developing technical restoration knowledge or construction expertise, including local, state, and federal building regulations.
  • Serve as a mentor and role model for Superintendents and field personnel.
  • Identify opportunities to expand project scope through additional services that benefit the client.
  • Communicate daily with Estimators regarding project status, schedule adjustments, scope changes, and potential challenges.
  • Demonstrate ongoing improvement in leadership, planning, scheduling, budgeting, and customer satisfaction.
  • Successfully complete projects on time, within budget, and with documented customer satisfaction.
  • Construction Focus:
    • Plan, coordinate, and supervise employees and subcontractors throughout all project phases.
    • Read, interpret, and manage blueprints and construction documents.
    • Oversee projects exceeding $1 million in value.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes and regulatory requirements.
  • Restoration Focus:
    • Lead restoration crews and temporary labor on mitigation and reconstruction projects.
    • Manage projects exceeding $1 million in value.
    • Complete company-approved technical training to strengthen areas of expertise.
    • Supervise multiple crews across multiple active projects.
    • Manage and document time-and-material projects while collaborating with Project Managers and Estimators to develop restoration plans.
