GBA, a professional, full service architectural and engineering firm, is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Sr. Project Manager position in our Life Sciences group. This group specializes in the design of processes, utilities and facilities that manufacture cGMP drug products using biotech and pharmaceutical methods. We serve many of the top companies as an integrated team of architects, engineers, commissioning specialists, and project managers. What You’ll Do
  • Key client management including client maintenance, business development and supporting marketing program.
  • Develop internal staff skills through training on project management fundamentals.
  • Create long-term and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines
  • Identify and address issues related to project performance.
  • Lead meetings with all disciplines and stakeholders as they relate to the project
  • Delegate tasks to employees best positioned to complete them
  • Make effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project
  • Serve as a point of contact for the team when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy
  • Work with a versatile group of professionals to provide innovative solutions during design, construction, startup, and Commissioning/Qualification/Validation.
  • Direct projects and project teams ensuring all deliverables occur as planned or negotiated and agreed upon by the customer
  • Able to work remotely as needed.
  • Performing quality control on the project throughout the duration to maintain the standards expected by GBA and the client
  • Prepare and present project updates to executive levels and steering committees of both GBA and the client to stay aligned with their goals.
  • Provide leadership and direct project controls of scope, schedule, and cost
  • Assist with the development of project management standardized processes and implementation to the GBA network

What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, construction management or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in managing multi-discipline building design projects and project teams, preferably in Bio Tech, Pharmaceuticals, Nutritional, Industrial, Mission Critical or other relevant settings
  • PMP certification is optional but preferred.
  • Self-starter, mature, independent, and dependable
  • Ability to work in fast paced results orientated environment
  • Effective time management, multitasking and prioritization skills
  • Excellent social skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external connections
  • The ability to develop relationships that would benefit GBA financially, but also as a key partner to innovation and industry development
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Relevant experience leading high impact projects such as engineering, regulatory responses, or construction
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience will be considered
  • Experience directly or indirectly supervising staff with increasing responsibility.
  • Possesses an understanding of quality and regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry, including pharmaceutical cGMP, cGLP, and cQMS (preferred but not required)

Travel
  • This position requires occasional overnight travel
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
