JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN (LICENSED) - WIND TOWER WIRING PROJECT

STATE OF MAINE

*** THIS IS A LICENSED JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN ROLE - WIND TOWER WIRING PROJECT ***
*** THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION - ESTIMATED TO BE 3-4 WEEKS ***

Our Wind Energy project is located in the Roxbury, Maine

Must hold a current State of Maine Journeyman Electrician license in good standing (or be eligible to obtain one through Maine's reciprocity provisions). License is issued by the Maine Electricians' Examining Board.

This job entails climbing wind turbines with heights up to 300 ft.

Per Diem is available for those who qualify.

The Journeyman Electrician performs tower wiring installation work on assigned wind turbines for Sentry Electrical Group, Inc. Working as part of a field crew with limited direct supervision, the Journeyman Electrician applies licensed-level skill, training, and judgment to complete installation tasks accurately and safely, and in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), approved project drawings and specifications, and Sentry safety protocols. The Journeyman Electrician follows defined schedules and reasonably detailed written and verbal instructions, documents completed work where required, and may provide direction to helpers and apprentices consistent with Maine licensing and supervision requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Performs tower wiring installation tasks on assigned wind turbines in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), approved drawings and schematics, and project specifications. Documents tasks where required.

- Closely adheres to all safety standards and procedures. Demonstrates risk-averse safety behavior at all times.

- Identifies risks and gaps in safety execution in the operational environment and either stops work / escalates or implements defined and appropriate mitigation methods with appropriate oversight.

- Provides recommendations to higher-level technical staff and management regarding everything safety. Encourages and recognizes others completing safe acts and intervenes when unsafe acts are practiced.

- Reads, interprets, and works from drawings, schematics, and installation documentation; seeks assistance when encountering issues outside trained skill levels to ensure success in execution.

- Follows defined instructions and installation schedules, executing plans as directed, and performs according to reasonably detailed written and verbal instructions.

- Demonstrates integrity, strong initiative, work ethic, as well as a focus on safety and quality of work on a continuous basis.

- Effectively contributes to a strong team environment through assisting teammates in accomplishing mutual goals, supporting and promoting team spirit and cooperation.

- May provide guidance to and work alongside helpers and apprentices in a manner consistent with Maine licensing and supervision requirements.

- Proactively looks for improvement opportunities to job-related processes and procedures and communicates through appropriate channels.

- Interfaces with the customer at a minimal level; may respond to some basic customer inquiries and will refer most customer inquiries to higher-level technical staff or managers. Demonstrates strong customer focus at all times.

- This role will require travel, working overtime, including working a flexible and variable work schedule as needed to meet business objectives.

- Perform other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Current State of Maine Journeyman Electrician license in good standing (or eligible to obtain one through Maine's reciprocity provisions).

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Prefer individuals with previous Tower Wiring experience.

- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) as adopted in Maine.

- Ability to demonstrate basic industrial safety practices/protocols including LOTO and Test-Verify-Test.

- Experience using basic power and hydraulic tools.

- Valid Driver's License.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions with precise execution.

- Ability to read, interpret, and understand drawings and schematics.

- Good interpersonal and customer relation skills. Able to effectively collaborate with employees at all professional levels and the ability to respectfully follow supervision.

- Basic computer operation skills and familiarity with internet-based program navigation.

ADDITIONAL REQUIRED ABILITIES

- Ability to speak, read, comprehend, and write in English.

- Ability to climb stairs and ladders 200-400 feet in height.

- Ability to lift, push, pull, carry items up to 50 lbs in weight.

- Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, and bend for prolonged periods of time.

- Ability to grip and manually manipulate, often with repetitive motion, items such as, but not limited to, hand tools, turbine parts.

- Comfort working in confined spaces and at heights over 300 feet.

- Ability to successfully participate in all training courses, including controlled descent.

- Regular walking.

- Ability to hear and use close range radios.

- A strong field of vision including visual depth perception and ability to distinguish colors.

- Able to work in demanding physical and inclement weather conditions.

- Comfort working remotely in a Turbine as part of a team with limited supervisory interaction.
