Job description

Project Manager Job Purpose: The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a project, ensuring that it is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The role involves coordinating with clients, contractors, suppliers, while managing resources, timelines, and risks throughout the project lifecycle.

Project Manager Position Competencies:

  • Conflict Management - Measures ability to identify and handle conflicts sensibly, fairly, and efficiently. Dealing with perceived incompatibilities or disagreements arising from differing opinions, objectives, and needs.
  • Customer Service - Measures responsiveness and courtesy in communicating with external clients, and vendors. Understanding urgency of customer requests and handling accordingly. Ability to provide temporary solutions to resolve immediate issues.
  • Dependability - Measures reliability, and ability to be consistent regarding performance, attendance, and behavior.
  • Professionalism - Measures ability to be self-disciplined; controls emotional reactions and keeps personal biases out of the decision-making process. Is consistent, organized, and a continuous learner. Ability to communicate interdepartmentally and function as a productive member of the team.
  • Workflow Oversight - Provides visibility into workflow progress, answers process questions, and escalates issues without direct people management.

Project Manager Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Document clients requested services within the company work order system in an efficient and accurate manner.
  • Prepare budget and cost estimates, along with project timetables and report to client and/or management as needed.
  • Identify and dispatch appropriate trade-related vendors by properly vetting their skills, experience, capacity, and general fit for each project.
  • Recruit new vendors as needed.
  • Build a rapport with clients and routinely check in on the status of the relationship. Deliver operational excellence to build trust and become the client’s subject matter expert.
  • Provide timely and comprehensive written and oral updates throughout the duration of the project. Work to resolve or escalate disputes to management as needed. Be accountable for updates and communication after hours as project or account needs dictate.
  • Build out project timelines and be able to report on all steps and status’s including Material ordering, lead times, shipping status, and all phasing plans during work on site.
  • Effectively detect, investigate, document, and mitigate all potential risks on projects and resolve any issues that do arise while maintaining all details in the work order management system.
  • Ensure all required supporting information is obtained in order to guarantee the accurate invoicing of the client.
  • Review and approve sub-contractor invoices to make certain that services are billed in a time appropriate manner.
  • Maintain a positive attitude with all clients and vendors and demonstrate a focus on customer service.
  • Travel to project sites to perform quality control as needed.
  • Embrace and share organizational initiatives, company culture, and values.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Project Manager Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years or more experience within construction project management required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Strong ability to multitask.
  • Detail oriented.
